Melanie Petrunia

Melanie is a graduate of McGill University and the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie. She spent two years in private practice with a leading Atlantic Canada law firm before joining the federal Department of Justice, Tax Law Services. After eight years representing the Canada Revenue Agency, she decided to offer her services to those on the other side of the courtroom.

Melanie has been part-time faculty at Dalhousie where she co-taught a course on the administration of the Income Tax Act. In addition, she has assisted the Dalhousie team in the Donald G. H. Bowman National Tax Moot competition. She has taken active roles with the Canadian Bar Association and volunteers with many organizations in the Halifax area.

Originally from Victoria, B.C., and having lived throughout Canada, Melanie welcomes the opportunities her practice affords to travel, assisting clients across the country. She has appeared in tax court in British Columbia, Ontario, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Labrador, and Nunavut.
